 The Windsurfer Association of Australia (WCAA) Class Committee has been closely monitoring the situation regarding national COVID-19 restrictions on travel and sporting events. Whilst a significant amount of work has already been undertaken with host venue, Parkdale Yacht Club, it has become increasingly clear that the current, and potential, Government travel restrictions into early 2021 were likely to have a detrimental impact on the ability for competitors from all States to attend. Furthermore, it was assessed that current social distancing restrictions would severely compromise the ability to run an event reflective of the Windsurfer Class spirit and culture – both on and off the water. Therefore, after careful consideration and consultation with a wide variety of stakeholders, it has been decided that the event will be deferred from 23-26 January, 2021 until the Easter weekend – with racing to be conducted from April 2-5, 2021.
